I make all the boards myself out of walnut and maple which are harvested in our region. I make all the chessmen too of course out of pewter. The black
side is not painted but instead is immersed in an acid bath to oxidize them black.
I then spray them with a gloss enamel to make them shine. This creates a more
durable finish.I have four different sizes
